Some Dodgers are not on a Brooklyn baseball team

Some Dodgers are not on a Brooklyn baseball team

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Some Dodgers are not on a Brooklyn baseball team

ducking into a crawlspace
anonymously vacant
to stay earthed
poor poet---
stiffed by the pen
no handouts
not even a punctuation mark
with which to buy next meal's manuscript

eyes softly spliced
to a dream
to a word
to create what was never said
before---
But when dessert is announced
the vacancy metamorphosis
into eviction
no longer diction
that sets up house

in the shoddiest part
of town---
where the walk home
is through
dangerous gangs of verbs.
