Chimes

Chimes

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Chimes

on a surly afternoon

snobbish winds

chill the personality

of the day

This little piece of brevity lets me travel. It is also very visual j. I heard wind chimes going nuts in a strong wind on a cold day and aggravating the neighbors. Bamboo chimes are quite hollow but the other sort can drive you insane if you want a quiet afternoon. Are they snobby? Well maybe they are, but I can see other possibilities in metaphor as well first this piece.

Thank you for your words, Chris,
j.
I had windchimes once, or perhaps it was just tinnitus, or both, but I do like your description of snobbish winds. Very apt indeed.
Luckily the picturing today is calm and still, but if I concentrate I can still hear them clanging from days and weeks past.
It's enough to drive us doolally, so it's a comfort to know it's just a figment of my imagi-hearing!

Hope those snobbish winds blow themselves out with their high and mighty attitude ..(altitude) .
