a kin's carcass

a kin's carcass

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a kin's carcass

a road in the wilderness

more like a beat-up path

worn from dispute

families in disarray

hatred is the vulture

hovering

like an old helicopter

from war

ready to shoot both sides

and put them out of their

savored misery.

the image your poem brought to mind was a dirt road with very deep ruts, the kind of ruts that kept the wagon fixed into it and well-traveled going both ways. That dirt road could be called Revenge! Whatever wrong was first perceived had to be answered and so on and so forth as the rut deepens until it is almost impossible to get out. People do "savor" these dirt roads, don't they?
