symmetry's silent killer

symmetry's silent killer

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

symmetry's silent killer

ripe minds
salvage fruits of wisdom
but overripe minds
rot
while incontinent
the floods unreconciled
by those prophets
who can foresee
the tree fallen
and dragged from its throne

amongst the orchard
that has turned on it.

by "overripe minds", I am reading this as "unused minds that just hang around and rot on the tree... I like this metaphor of non-critical thinking. And then what happens when the light bulb comes on, knowledge creeps in, and well, it's off to the cemetery (aka symmetry) to him. I know Jacob, but thank you for indulging my wandering mind.

I'm surprised I am the only commentator so far on this poem, Jacob. It's one of your better poems IMHO.
