One Snowy Morning

One Snowy Morning

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

One Snowy Morning

Jack Frost met

Robert Frost

in "Whose woods these are..."

they prattled on

rattled branches as icicles

fell into dreams of poetry

Robert felt a numbness of lyrical

persuasion

as Jack smiled deeply

with his coldest grin

and the pen fell

from Robert's frigid grip

words to be trampled upon

by those horses

who "give their heads a shake."

But it is no mistake

even a conduit

freezes away

from its perpetuity.

We had a blast of winter overnight with a dumping of wet snow.
I’m reading your poem, after digging myself out and somehow my snow lacked poetry.
Enjoyed your post.

I like the playfulness aspect of this poem where snow and poetry help the author to make it through that day or days; must add hot chocolate or coffee when reading Robert Frost sharing last name with Jack Frost
One will melt while the other will melt hearts.

Hehehe. You are welcome sir Jacob
I have read Robert and felt both Jack and Robert. Sometimes Frost sets in on the muse and at others frost. Frozen in poetic thought is frequent for me and most lately has affected my quality. There is deep ice to ponder in this glacier of a poem

A meeting of the two Frosts, Jack and Robert. Poetry meets cold weather. Both admired and having their own brand of beauty. I think I would prefer to read Robert in front of a blazing fire though. Yet Jack wins outright for the frosting on bare branches:) So much in one poem, and their conversation. Unique idea dear j.
