The Influential Second Hand of Infatuation

fifteen seconds ago
I fell in love with you
nine seconds ago
I no longer remembered you

four seconds ago
I felt sorry, and
empty
about something.

Wow! This sounded like the Atomic clock of doom, gloom.
I love it!

sorry, I was so gloomy with the pen here.
But, thank you, Sami...glad you favored it.

Jacob as one of my favorite poets on this site you continually pose such philisophical questions that echo in the mind. Yes you have captured the essence of passion as opposed to love in this poem. Lovely!

Thank you for those really kind words, Soren.
I am just a lucky conduit for the words.

Existentialist's razor sharp exploration of our momentary dalliances. Reminds me of Jimmy Carter's great line, "I've committed adultery in my mind"

How did you know? Wait, did I write this poem?
I used to do the same with women, but now it's more about trying to decide which cake I'm gonna have at the bakery!

those poor deserted cakes.
That is a very short infatuation. I visited my aunt today. She was overjoyed to see us for ten minutes before her mood changed and she told us to get out, but then she has advanced dementia. I think this piece has layers and there are other meanings j. Thought provoking,

Chris

I think it does too, Chris.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

J,
That has happened to me a thousand times... a face in the crowd, a blond in a red corvette, in the back booth of a diner. It is always delightful and meaningless. Reminds me...
IN A STATION OF THE METRO
The apparition of these faces in the crowd
Petals on a wet, black bough.
