my words my writes all mean nothing
when exhaustion finds comfort within my soul
most times my ink fails to flow
this write gives me the freedoms to breathe again
thank you jacob

I've been saying that logic and reason are in decline all my life and so they have been. The world is being overtaken by an army of morons but don't take my word for it, just turn on the evening news and it won't take but a minute to spot a scout of the advancing force. They call themselves, "woke" with pink and purple hair; dystopic and delusional, tattooed and pierced and gender unspecific telling us men can menstruate and having no definition for what a "woman" is. Yes, they even aspire to be Supreme Court Judges. My father had calculus in the ninth grade. Ninth graders today can't spell calculus. And as Walter Cronkite used to say, "That's the way it is."

Reason does seem to be in retreat, what with the power of influencers and conspiracy theorists at this time. One of our president elect's former employees says he lied over 30,000 times. What does poetry do in the face of that, when so many people believe those lies?

so much to say about this alive poem, Jacob. Our poetry is one of the needed weapons in bringing down those "drones" in the sky that get louder every day, every hour, every minute. But words will not be enough to stop the onslaught, though we should never stop using them to rouse people. The people who "come to the table", will be those who have confronted words, yes, but also the reality of what they are seeing, what they are forced to accept. Decent people will come to see the need to, in deeds, remove those drones from the skies, and the people controlling them.
