The mind sees and hears what it wants to.
Beauty they say is in the eyes of the beholder.
As sure as day; all humans have wants and needs, but they are never the same.
So it’s okay to do you, while I do me.
Don’t despise my quirks,
I would respect yours,
Don’t consider your quirks superior,
Mine aren’t inferior
In the final analysis we all breathe in oxygen and breath out carbon dioxide
We all have the right to be true to ourselves.
Simple but profound!
Keep writing Jacob!

Do we not hear "Old days"?? Not to repeat them or too just relive "glory days", but to learn from them and from these lessons learned go further and solve the problems we faced, but were never able too back then. Talk is cheap. We do not have to live this way -- this is reality. And this reality is true for all of us, no matter what we may want to hear, or think.
Yes, we are "OLD", but we ain't dead yet and no matter how intelligent AI is, only us humans can resolve and create our future. Our job, no, our responsibilty, as human beings is to change the ugliness we faced and create a new way to live. This too is reality that too many people are either ignorant of or have the American disease of acceptance and 'IGNOR-ANCE".
Your poem stirred my righteous anger at the curremt situation in today's America, Jacob.

Lots to be angry about....and to fear.
Thank you, Curt,

Your last stanza is ambiguous and gives this poem its twist of interest, The first time I read it it took it to be AI saying it and meaning that it was old. The second time I took it as the author saying it of AI and he bragging that he knew how to use it even though he was old. It is the ambiguity as to knowing that speaks to me. Is AI a new life form and are we God (Old) in creating it? For many years people didn't consider other races as human many don't consider other animal forms worthy of respect. Is Ai another life form we are too ignorant to acknowledge?

I wish we weren't acknowledge it...I hope we can keep thinking and writing on our own.
