Belonging

Belonging

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Belonging

a little murmur

heart in transition

few beats short of a cry

i saw you yesterday

in the lake's reflection

the water's swirl

still could not extinguish

the flame

you became.

i really enjoyed this esoteric little piece. the words flow like a gentle stream, natural and pleasant. the lines express some deep pain that is never explained but it is well-voiced. talking about it doesn't always make one feel better. but penting up emotions never work. through writing, the persona is able to release something, even if it can not be extinguished.

It has been so many years...more poems, but never less pain.

So mesmerizing how every word contains a story! The reader sits and stares as if each word contains the treasure, the answer. Then, the poetry is read in its entirety and the author is still the only one that knows! I just love it! So beautiful, J! There's something about the mystery that captures the heart and mind at the same time. (There's a song that goes, "If you still love me, never let me know.") This reminds me of that song. Wow. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing, J.

There is a time and place where belonging has its own hide-away of loss never forgotten. Such sadness.

And so are you to hold her in your heart and spirit, dear friend. Love never forgets.. whatever
Somebody so v-e-r-y special will never be forgotten and you will never be forgotten by her either, dear J... She will always walk with you, each step you take on the road of life she will be right there walking by your side. The flame of love never dies, it can n-e-v-e-r be extinguished, it is the golden chain which connects us to our loved ones who have crossed over to Spirit. You may catch a glimpse of her from time to time, or you may sense her presence, or find feathers or coins, or have visits from Robins and Butterflies, they are all sent to us by our loved one's in Spirit as a reminder that they have not left us, that they are right here with us and always will be. Wonderful write, dear J... Thank you for sharing, dear friend...

You're very welcome, jacob.
Fire and water seldom mix, but that's what love does. Changes what you thought were the rules to a new test you didn't know you were sitting and had no warning to cram for.
On the plus side though, there's hardly any pressure on you. Just a very slow and lingering agonising death if you fail.

A beautiful way to tell someone nothing could make them be forgotten. That the flame is eternal. A great poem.
