Poisoned Sprinklers

Poisoned Sprinklers

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Poisoned Sprinklers

green lawns run away and hide

under blankets of turned leaves

and white snow

all with no conscience

as to what their impact

is to the damaged blades

disenfranchised

disengaged

disinherited

dying in droves

next spring will come

but the lawns

will be nothing

but dirt lots

with posted signs

warning trespassers

to "Keep Off."
