A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

searching a kind Verb

for the love of God

and writing

and poets

and accumulated heartbreak

and dissatisfaction

and dissatis-fraction

quarters of a whole

quarters in the pocket of a beggar

quarters of a throne

thorned and malicious

and deceitful

and psychotic

and

for the love of God

and his people

his sheep

the shepherd

with grimy hands

with hardened face

with a staff

black with immodesty

with immoral tip

the ground rejects

the worms scatter

the subjects scatter

the nouns profit

they are all but proper

but they profit

for the love of God

not the one to whom

we pray

we are poets

we kneel before the muse

in reverence

and

for the love of God.

Maybe we are safer and happier in our own little space Jacob, i know i am in my old age .
The universe is the only great miracle I acknowledge , man is mainly a very imperfect species to be avoided mostly.

I agree with you, Stella....completely and utterly.

Jacob, this is a masterpiece.
The disillusion is so real…I could feel it
Don’t get me started on the play on words ”quarters” at the beginning .
How did mankind get here?

There is always a way.
I hear you. There is a quiet desperation in this piece. For the love of God indeed. What is coming next? What is on the horizon? The world is on the brink and the UK looks fooked. Sad reality dear j.

"for the love of God" I like this! It is an intense. I like the flow seems to hit hard. Nice read.

Thank you for your words, Sith,

A poem of anger, hurt, and the way we view the world....it is to me very sickening, hard, "immoral"
and all the traits that go with a person of importance who only sees the world as "me"; forgets about all those others, the downtrodden, the sick, the dying, the handicapped....."we kneel before the muse"...and pray to her to help us.....
Warmly, B

Hi J, once again I was signing off when this snagged me! I had to give my "quarters" worth! I wanted to speak to the lines that were speaking to me but J, they ALL are!
Is this a cryptic piece? about present times and ways of the world and those in charge and charging more and more to our demise?
Thank you, J.

Thank you for your kind words, Soren,
j.
for the love of Calliope I write. She wills my pen to move in words and all I can do is give in and enjoy the ride. But speaking of dissatis-fraction, the love of that god is one all decent people should reject him and his sheep. We deserve better Jacob.
