It's funny, I just read that when we see ourselves in the mirror we see ourselves 5 times more beautiful than what we really are so no wonder we don't see how things really are.

we see what we want to see rather than what we really see.
thank you, andrew.

Sometimes some people enjoy ripping life and its everything visual from the entire to dust. Destruction is the goal that can if necssary, be swept under the mat or out of sight via spite - depending on the two sides of the mind: how a mind acts, how a mind thinks of how it acts.

I've tried to read carefully and not be hurt too much or too often when reading others' thoughts whether or not about self or writing. Guess people eventually find their own place in the quicksand... sad tho' it is
and those who do not see beautiful things the same way you do, the ugly way, they will take and take and take from the beauty, the ugly, until you are left with and empty silver dish and the only thing staring back at you is your poor, fooled reflection. -mabel

I appreciate the insight you put into this reading, mabel,

I have always believed that how I see the world poisons more relationships than it benefits, but it isn't something I've been able to filter out of my attitude and words. Nicely written. ~Jim
Isn’t that just the way j. We all see things differently. I am reminded of that old saying, one man’s meat is another’s poison. It would be a sad world if we were all cloned. I am a firm believer that there is always beauty if you look hard enough. Some, only scratch the surface. An honest perspective.

Yes, and sometimes it is all poison. Thank you, Chris.

Your words reflect a complex, emotional perspective on beauty, love, and distance. I can feel the pain in your words Jacob. Brilliant writng as usual. :) Julie
It's interesting how we often perceive things so differently. The beauty seen by one is often regarded as married or ugly by another. So nice to find someone who sees things for their beauty. Thanks for your thoughts.
Take care - Dave.

Yes Jacob. We live in a world where we decide what we want to see and know. Sometime we mistake ugly for beautiful. Beautiful for ugly. I did enjoy the poetry my friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

the first stanza feels genuine seeing beautiful things, in a ugly way or their ugly ways
seeing things truly as they are, leading to emotional loss in the last two stanza
