A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

poem

i will be arraigned

for loving you

and the rain will be falling

outside the courtroom

as i testify of my feelings

trying to express them

as accurately as i remember them

the day you walked away

leaving me the only witness

with a heart barely beating

but the vision lucid as ever

even with the rain falling harder now.

not a problem
yes, yes, i agree. love is something we must be guilty of otherwise why would we feel it so deeply?

Wow this was really great, I love to picture you paint of court and being guilty of love, being left in a prison for feeling something and being the only one still there holding the emotion. really good.

Thank you for your kind review, Dave,

If love is a crime then lock me up. I have no lawyer but an umbrella to fend off the rainy days. I have a hope it might set me free, innocent as a bird.
Marvelous metaphors in a splendid poem.
All rise now!

I think your umbrella might be weapon enough, Sami...
wield it....:)))
This is a poignant poem, showcasing the depth of longing
using a courtroom metaphor,
greatly expressed, eloquently penned
