Hey! Guys! This man, the Son of God came to Earth to DIE so we won't need to sacrifice animals for their blood everytime we sin we just repent in JESUS' NAME!
But everybody is neglecting that! He DIED so we can do that a million, a zillion times!
The ugly, the truant, the bestial, seem to be around a lot these days. People say these times feel different. I agree. But I see no turning back, and that's what scares me.

I know...no turning back.
sad state of affairs,

Jacob you always sit the words so masterfully on the page. I am in awe of that. To the lazy angels. A good soul must be nurtured into existence. They should get off their fantastic tuffets and do some angelling. LOL. Or says I.
This really fits with the ominous cloud that I feel hanging over everything ... and I personally do not see it getting better, but much worse. My Ark will have to be 80 proof I fear. Great write. ~Jim

80 proof? That will sink the boat, ha ha.
thanks, Jim,

I love the opening two lines "splitting hairs on rails of disbelief" Looking at most people and their actions and beliefs would make me to want to start over as well. The question would be who you would choose to be Noah. A very thought provoking poem.

what a great, brooding, ominous, foreboding poem about armageddon. every culture has their own version of the end of days because all of us know that it is inevitable. whether it is man or nature or God that destroys us all, our species will not live on forever. the way you painted this landscape in such dark and gritty imagery evokes the sense of dread that we ought to feel. but, as an optimist, i interpreted your title as a hint of hope -- maybe a few good souls can be saved from annihalation and go on to build a better one from the bottom up.
"Start Building the Boat" is a powerful poem that explores love amid negativity. The imagery is striking, and the contrast adds depth. the hopeful ending about starting over is inspiring. Overall, it’s a captivating piece!
Safety boat or Ark of Noah is long gone and we are still searching for it physically and literally.
God wanted to start over, but came to find out humans are the same or getting worse.
I thought He was all knowing. Makes someone think.
I see world War 3, but this time it will be worse than the other 2; I hate to say it.
An excellent take on wars, hate, nationalism, superior ideologies and so forth.
Humans don't want to live and let live in honor, dignity and justice. Oh, well! We see the results.

i think 3 will be worse also, Sami.
thank you for your words,

I think fake media started a very long time ago. You never see angels on cave walls and I haven't seen a mermaid yet. Must get my eyes tested. Loved the imagery J.
