the little mirror

the little mirror

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the little mirror

the impact

of her compact

the sweet blush

the perfectly settled skin

lipstick tracing her mouth

with impeccable curl

scarlet red roving in sensual

scratch

my bleeding reception

to her advance

I have become a souvenir

in her purse of pursuers

she smiles

at her reflection

And what a souvenir she got; a poet and a lover of the highest caliber she added to her collection. She might had Trump; who knows. Just kidding on the last one.
Long live the poet and lover.

Hehehe! You are welcome sir Jacob.
Beguiled by the ruby smile, too often we fall for the veneer and not the essence. Below the surface, we see a lonely woman who needs to "collect" men to assure her self-worth, and a man who also lonely, needs proof he is a man. And as often happens, both are left empty. We live in a society/world where men and women are caught up in silly beliefs about each other. Power over someone is the game.

Jacob, once again you thrill the reader with the opportunity to explore relationships and to see your garden of words in a variety of ways. I appreciate your skills and for allowing me to come and walk all over your garden. Thank you! Curt
