Hush

Hush

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Hush

i heard Garbo

utter a

word

but

would not dare repeat

what i

heard

keeping her secret

safely secure

in a

mouthful

of silence.

Yes, no telling...
thank you, Vol,

I love that song by Deep Purple. I have a poem by the same title so naturally I was drawn in by it. I like to see the interpretations of other poets on similar subject matter. Speaking of Garbo, my favorite reflection on her is a song by Van Morrison titled, Just Like Greta. This was a good read as always, my friend, F.

The original was by Joe South, who wrote it. But the Deep Purple version is my favorite.
psssst, Jacob, I say as silently as I can, I didn't hear what she said. Perhaps you could ask her to speak up??!! Garbo's mystery was silence, and her silence made her mysterious. And she said it very loudly too!! Nicely penned, Jacob.

yes, sometimes silence is deafening, Jim, isn't it?
thanks,

Of all the Grand Hotels she could have ever dared to stay my appreciation, and still manage her "aloneness" ...time was the only stable structure she ever abused with me. And yet even those walls were as are not strong enough to hold in her beauty. Good lord what a magnificent woman. I wonder what secret keeps you smiling...God bless that Star-Lit Starlet !!. Sweetly penned J~

I don't think Garbo wanted to be heard. Not what you'd call an exhibitionist.

I do think she wanted to be left alone. Madame Garbo was one of a kind. Wonderful write:)
