suicide scenery

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

suicide scenery

gracious colors descend

upon grinning maples

Leaves casually accepting

the near-death experience of the turning

that becomes them

just before the jump.

As I am entering the autumn of my life, I find the humor and beauty (not knowing if it was intended but that it what it brought to me) in your poem so comforting- Thank you for this.

That we should all fall in such a glorious manner as the leaves of Autumn; burning bright as a meteor in vivid colors before the withering winds of winter. Your verse was wonderful to read.

close to where I live is a mountain and right now, it is filled with suicidal leaves, proudly exposing themselves with colors. As you drive along the road you can't help but admire the beauty of Death in all its glory. I think this display, is the grand gesture before the barrenness and bleakness of Winter. Thank you Jacob, for the visual journey in words. I am now going to go and see the foliage before the jump!!

Claire De Lune is one of my favorites...thank you, Pat,

Another gem that uses personification and metaphor to paint a picture so clear but uncommonly thought of. Admirable my friend.
