Plath's Bees

Plath's Bees

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Plath's Bees

with never ending beginnings

belongings felt with tedious anger

we fight love as if it were

a stinging wasp

but the embrace

of the buzz

a sound of approaching love

running is just chasing endings

beginnings might nest in our hearts

if we portion our resistance

into a welcoming serving

even as the wound swells.

I feel the exasperation, if that is the correct term, for Plaths point to be made, to get to the point she wanted to make she sometimes tripped on the beginnings with the rush of thoughts building behind the words. It is so easy now to see her flaws, just like we all have, yet most get stuck on them as if the rest were nothing. She did at least try to be something, as her words recorded are her testament that speak so loud to those that hear her.
Let's hope more people listen and less judge Jacob.
A fine piece of writing Jacob, which let's face it, I should just copy and paste into all my reviews of yours at the end.

thank you for the very kind review, Lorry,

Plath's influence and mastery echo through much of your poetry, Jacob...at least in my opinion. What a paragon she was. To think what could have been.
