Wow!! Powerful Jacob a pocket full of tears, regrets, sadness. Emptiness is so hollow. As you always do you convey strong emotions in such unique visions. Bits and pieces that make a picture or in this case lack of one. This is why I love your poems friend.
That poor child, feeling that freeze at such a young age. All four of my grandparents were kind and full of warmth. As a nan myself I know the important role that grandparents can play. It wasn’t only you dear J that missed out. He did too and it makes me wonder why he was so cold to a child.

This so poignant poem has come from v-e-r-y deep inside you, dear J... It is absolutely heartbreaking to read. Both sets of my Grandparents had crossed over to Spirit before I was born so I never knew them, something I've missed all my life. The final verse in the poem brings the whole poem together for me, J... It is my feeling that Grandfather was cold because he loved someone SO special, after she crossed over to Spirit his life was empty, devoid of love and he was so sad and empty inside from his loss, he forgot what it was like to love. I don't feel he ever allowed himself to love again, J... You have expressed your feelings and reactions the cold emptiness so very finely in this excellently penned poem. I feel in writing it, a little weight has been lifted off your shoulders and I know you understand why Grandfather acted as he did. A little comfort hug on its way to you! Wonderous write, thank you for sharing, J...
There's a trail of tears in your poem, Jacob. In tense emotion flows from that bended knee genuflection. A young boy's love never found its way into a pictured locket and that though alone, makes one feel cold, empty. You tore up my heart with this poem, Jacob.
