Seven reasons

Seven reasons

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Seven reasons

metaphorical envy
oxymoronic greed
the lust for lyrical exchange
a vain strain for the perfect word
appetite abounding for sounding syllables sardonically
reverting to flirting with wrathful longing

but alas
I am too lazy
lying awake contemplating an attempt
at poeming,
pen inert
as still as the moonless night.

Sounds like the seven deadly sins effecting the very heart of your thoughts J. Enjoyed it, great word play.

Thank you for your kind words, andrew.

Writing about Writer's Block has always helped me loosen the words and get them flowing. I know the feeling of being up in the middle of the night trying to make the words cooperate. Lydi**

Words can not express how much I enjoyed this.
A total lust for lyrical exchange, I feel seen by this poetry.
I love me some vain straining, especially when it comes to pixel perfect syllable use that nobody but my inner perfectionist asked for.

OOOH ... someone was naughty. Some katana sharp wit here. I'd hate to be the bloke on the receiving end of these words.

The inert pen is all too common. Nicely expressed. ~Jim
