a sad patch of earth

a sad patch of earth

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a sad patch of earth

i am bellowing out whispers
screaming secrets
of the love
i had for you
before we grew together
like a weed choking a daisy

i could never remember
the official names of them
but i always saw what weeds
could do

i am a lame gardener
focused on roses that died
as i laid the seeds

i did love you once
but that secret
has gotten very quiet now.

The garden needs tending and nurturing. Let those weeds get out of control and your roses will suffocate. Relationships can go this way too if you allow it. A sad poem of what can go wrong with love.

it is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.
that love will still be dancing around an endless sky with infinite stars for many years to come. just remember that instead of looking down while lying the seeds, reach up and say hello. -mabel mae
