a cloud sometimes blocks a view

a cloud sometimes blocks a view

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a cloud sometimes blocks a view

the sky is a bit brighter now

there is a new star joined

in the massive brilliance

he was light in the shadows of friendship

a chuckle that so easily poured its liquid

into the gold of life

a voice over the wire that reminded

us of a certain kindness

bones of gentleness

he was always that star

even amongst the galaxy

that was life on earth

now a distant glow

that still lingers in proximity

and always will.

Only true love (Platonic) can make one conjure up words like this to give voice to one's ineffable feelings about a departed soul.

The imagery is masterful - as always. There is a perfect balance between solemn mourning and celebration of a connection remembered, retained, and celebrated.

Wow. In 2006 I lost a poetic friend that used to talk to me for hours on the phone and she really was a light that has never been replaced. Nicely done. ~Jim

Are our memories sometimes clouded of our loved ones long gone, and or our parents by the years that have rolled on, this is where this write took me.
