A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Transaction: a pound a word

an obese word

corpulent phrase

fat poems naturally expand

a wasteland of stanzas

it's the physicality of metaphor

they just grow

into what they are

weightful, grateful

children of those

who scale the proximity

of thought

with a diet of skillful play.

A wonderful play with words in this excellently structured write, Jacob. Even slim words can carry a lot of weight as can slim stanzas and they can still be strong and wise. Lovely allegory! Great write! Enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing, J...

Most welcome always, J...
A poem that deserves more comments. Yet in today's politically correct society there are those that will say the wording is insensitive to the over weighted words. Not only amusing but well written each word carefully selected and employed. As always well written
