Two Ends create a Beginning

Two Ends create a Beginning

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Two Ends create a Beginning

filaments
of love laced together
two elements
staring into each other's eyes
the connection causes light

strong as solar energy
compassionate as the sun's smile
warm as the intrepid moon
on a summer's night
shadows embrace

the ink black darkness
gives cover
the light vanishes
but the kiss is electric
short circuiting the reality

That is written in fiction
but makes such a good story
when embellished with
eccentric lines of poetry
open to interpretation.

So many lines of poetry can be eccentric (and I've read so many of yours, dear Jacob!). How often is our reality "short-circuited"? And the idea that darkness - already rather black - is actually ink black! Nice one.

Jacob,
Reality tends to suck more than it doesn't tend to suck. So spicing things up with a nice sprinkle of eccentric poetry makes it bearable at least and desirable at most...
An electric kiss in the dark is my favorite short circuit, as shocking as that sounds...

Love this. We has poets heighten our feelings in verse in order to captivate the readers attention.
