very nice. full of humor and satire. I like these lines,
"I vote for Budweiser for the keg
let's sleep it off afterwards"
Beautifully captured the tech transitions we go through as humanity, in the process we lose some humanness. Like I remember days in mid 90's when I was growing up, we had a telephone line - the one with the dial, then came the pager, a little while later cellphone, few years later fb, smart phones/watches and what nots. In the digital age, all I see a screen, sometimes a face on other side or a blind voice on the voip call. Gone are the days of face-to-face catch ups and lively meet ups. Things change as times change. Loved reading this one, Jacob, Thanks for sharing!

Just saw a video of people waiting to buy the PS2... A different time, indeed.
I am 33 years old, grew up without phones, did not have my first "smart" phone till 3 years ago.
Books and coffee shops, conversation.
Baristas, mom and pop gameshops...
Miss it, but I do not miss the disconnect.
The young ones are connected in a way we never can be, as is proven by my spry 23 year old sister knowing every pop culture reference under the sun.
Good and bad of every time is outlined in the falling from grace of the ones who experienced the turn of the tide first.
I will come up with something better to say for instagram later...

Not because of a root desire to be correct when fact-checked, or to be a monster in mythos.
But because of my own age and bias.
I fear the world moving on without me.
My other comment got cut off, so I re-wrote it,
You are most welcome, mate
See the agility of children hardly tall enough to reach my waist as they text and text endlessly, lost it seems in their own little techno 'bubble' world. Strange how we have come so far, yet become so far away from the natural order of things.
This has inspired me to write a poem jacob, so thank you.
Beccy.
