The Book of Restful Longing

The Book of Restful Longing

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

The Book of Restful Longing

arms and legs

in rhythm

wrap themselves like gifts

encircling

skin's affect

from touch

tongues find comfort

in silent speak

love tells its story

the beautiful blemish

of closeness captioned

a frame of humanness, of need

of want

hold me forever

and the centuries will keep our story

bound securely for eternity.

This poem revolves around the physical and emotional closeness between two individuals, emphasizing the comfort and beauty found in their shared bond.
Beautifully written!

The use of imagery, such as "arms and legs wrap themselves like gifts" and "skin's affect from touch," creates a sensory experience for us readers. Nice flowing poem too
