Ballet of the Incumbent 

dance strokes

the artist pirouettes 

his words spin synchronicity 

syllables softly settle on toes

of tentative torque

a subtle power projected

per semantic suffrage

the vote cast

the poet remains wrested

from the inspiration

intertwined with his heart

he is good for another term

at the keyboard

if his years are still kind

to his wit.

i especially like the use of the language in this one Jacob .. aging at the point of loosing our foundation is one of the saddest things about it. i think your poem shows a tender heart toward the President .. peace and joy sir!

Poetic brevity most contemporary of the time as here too in the UK it's voting day and soon to be same in USA, still though despite the vast seperation of the atlantic ocean, our respective electorates share similiar concerns, out political incumbents, their rhetoric really is risible. and the poet still writes, his/her efforts at least come from the heart!!

Yes, I have been told of the voting there and maybe similar conditions...Good luck with that...politics these days are just a hot mess.
