little house on Boot Hill

little house on Boot Hill

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

little house on Boot Hill

claustrophobic body
the casket has one room
no kitchen
and is too small for a TV set

I knew I would wake
my rent is paid up ahead
so I will lie here for eternity
thinking about putting on an addition

and getting a remote control
to turn my dead daydreaming
on and off
all the while adjusting the volume

of my conscience.

Ah Jacob I have heard of low rent motels but this one is the lowest. I would worry most about a bathroom. A shower would be nicer now and then to keep the worms off. As to the volume on that conscience I would want to keep it on mute. The only thing more annoying than ads. I liked the lightness of this write Jacob it puts a bit of humor into a dark subject.
