temporary housing

temporary housing

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

temporary housing

little flower

mirage bloom

she's troubled pretty

closing even as she is opening

the weeds creep close

she knows her destiny

April is surely a cruel month

and the rain can't possibly help

her nourishment was never enclosed

within

her radiance a passing fancy

she looked pretty on the cover

before the garden devoured her

and the green thumb of envy

let her go.

Ah, the life of a flower ...here & gone, just like us!
Thanks JB, I'll never cut a stem again :)

Correction: "Jacob."
...haha, didn't mean to mistake you for the Baptist :)

Thank you, JD and I don't mind being mistaken for that wonderful philosopher, John the Baptist.

It's good to see you are still, essentially, an analog thinker in a digital age. The human analog is there, to be sure, as are the literal visuals but, of course, it's the seasoning between the lines that tempt the collective unconscious. Thank you, JEC.

I appreciate your words...Thank you UFI.

Temporary is the word here. Whether flower, animal, man or building all things are temporary and with age the young flower closes and the weeds creep in. Weeds of time, weeds of envy beauty becomes a mirage and closes as soon as it opens. This piece carries a sense of heaviness to it as well as a double meaning to the green thumb of envy. Loved it Jacob
