shedding replicas of old loversA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
folds
of empty skin Blue
feelings the
largest organ is not the heart but
the heart breaks the hardest the
puncture bleeds the longest and
the skin is tattooed permanently with
drained color blue
to gray to black the
screen goes blank the
film is over dry
eyes leave the theater all
the tears expended and
the artist leaves
lines like poetry all
over the body to be
read at the
heart's end. 3/25/24 © 2024 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
