cold meanings

abrupt beginnings

she smiled that glacier smile

at once, I melted in chunks of resignation

her heart an instrument of global warming

 

my love span shortened

by her nature's fire

 

I left a poem 

logging the event

 

when everyone and everything is gone

she might read it.

A little poem to take the chill off? You never know what could happen when everyone is gone. Once again, a masterful piece from your pen. Short lines, abrupt endings and a message woven so expertly through that even the warmest day would bring a few shivers to the reader.

Resignation, but there is something else. That’s what comes across here. Glacier woman with nature’s fire encounters an open sunshine heart. The sunshine heart is now overshadowed by cloud.

and yet her heart an instrument of global warming

Maybe she isn’t available.

Dear j, so much emotion packed into this brevity. Excellent play on words and a beautiful poem.

The final two lines stand out.
