Liked the write. Liked the perspective. These lines here has my heart,
"I can't keep writing
with a pen bleeding tears
for ink
writing should erase heartbreak
mine is adding more metaphor
between the lines
and the times
I can't keep the pen silent
but my sobs are loud enough
to wake the dead"
Can't get enough of this part.. waiting in the beautiful muse that it has left me with..
Confession time here. Personal poetry is currently in favor with the critics, but it appears there is a cost to the poets who write it. If you dig up buried stones, don't expect them to be smooth.
You write as you feel Jacob, there is an honesty in your poems.
I am honest about who i am but i do daydream the contents of my poems, if i didn't i really would be in cuckoo land because some of my writings i know are way off reality or truth. They are only poems and poems do not always have to be reality, those that are usually come from the most sensitive people i find .
The title through me. This lead me to a Rolling Stones song “ hey you, get off of my cloud!” It’s a great window seat to see all but then again all long and winding roads are a bit foggy. Another enjoyable write.
For many of us sadness, death, despair, loss, longing, makes for a much better bedfellow, poetry wise, than all that happiness brings, which is strange really!
You will NEVER take a back seat, your pen will always bleed as it is part of your DNA Jacob, so unfortunately for you, but not us, you will have to suffer at the hands of the poetry Gods :)))
Hope you are keeping well sir.

You are an extremely supportive poet.

Strongly agree with the sentiments here. Is it the time of the season "tell it to me slowly" or the age of wasting the has infected me with a depressed foreboding. Great title and special resonance with, "writing should erase heartbreak
mine is adding more metaphor
between the lines
and the times"
thanks for the post - carl

I love these words here, This is a wonderful write. I agree with Andrew John, this reminds me of a
Beetle's song, The Long and winding road. Nicely written.
much enjoyed

Perhaps our moods write for us; tis difficult to write happy when pain holds the pen or - to be sad when when bliss has the upper hand. Your writing is as logical and finely put as the moon showing its face every night so seems. Unless I have misunderstood there are happy moods that elude you, that you want to win back or hold onto before they drown in the every day. Food for thought here, sir, as often could be if you wanted.
When the View is Clear … my Pen becomes the Engine of my Soul… I am the Conduit of thoughts that whisper… thou Art the Heart 💜 that lies by Still waters… Amen… God is Good and Grapes will quench my Thirst… softly, Pat
