on occasionA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoon occasion the
fly in my soup ducked
under the waves and
tore his wings slogging
through the thick split pea of
life a
short one on the menu for sure not
living to delve into the entree and
not a cheap appetizer his
existence, much like mine happened
with no silver spoon stirring
the heavy liquid eruption drove
the fly crazy and
without its wings or its
brain it
could not write one more word and
begged to become part
of the undiluted green
sea as the
waiter replaced
my appetizer but forgot
the crackers. erin-cilberto 12/31/23 © 2024 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
