A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Patterns

wrapped in Pendleton

she curls around

an array of leaves

in unaccustomed colors

where the breeze gently

lifts the quilt of maple leaning

October genuflects before her photo

as if she were some mythical queen

out of a Shakespeare sonnet

yet, she was just a mother

a blue collar mother

pinching a moment

of serenity

while the leaves agreed

and turned

just for her.

...encapsulates a contemporary poetic life... perhaps the patterns speak to and of each other. J, I am truly blessed by these lines.

thank you for your kind words, Freds.

This is a beautiful piece and I see her and the glory of the vibrant, autumn colour. Maples are so majestic. You honour her memory with this poem of charming serenity. It is both timeless and memorable.
