the sharpshooter

the sharpshooter

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the sharpshooter

one by one

the marbles fall

the victims follow

the trigger unknown

he's not all there

now others are not all there

time is of the essence

to stop this daggered brain

as he takes a last drag

of his cigarette

peers through his site

and blows a smoke ring

through another heart.

Devastating. This is how this poem made me feel. Sounds like you have suffered another mass shouting over there by a nut job allowed to be in control of a deadly weapon. There is a solution. I sense the utter frustration here J. Well poemed.

18 dead, 13 wounded in Maine...yes, pretty awful stuff.

Cries for help indeed , what America needs is rubber band guns, they don’t hurt anybody.

that is quite a good idea, andrew,

A cry for help that goes unheeded will find a way to make itself heard but when hope is gone, so is reason and sanity.
