A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Influence
I read a selection of Beat poetry
by the Black Mountain boys
backed up by the City Lights choir
then took up drumming.
because it's the only poetry
I can play.

Your brand of thoughtful verse is just what I needed today, Jacob - which is why I popped by after a long absence. Glad there are still constants in the world...

Indeed that metre has it's metronomic quality that has to captivate and hypnotise its reader in order to let them feel the words. More short, poignant short form verse from the Master of.

Well, I hope you read it down at Big Sur. City Lights, that little publisher that set the world on fire by publishing "Howl" in the Pocket Poet Series...got mine sitting nearby with Carl Solomon polishing the cover. Feels like a need for a falling back to a time or need, a season, and wanting to just relax. Oh, I know it's Autumn and the world is on fire, but that haunting seed for just no news at all is tangible Seems to be growling at us all, Jack and not Jack at the helm.
