another Eagle poemA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
several
hours tall the
nightmare grows wings takes
us to cloudy inception of terror we
wake screaming on the hills where
unicorns bleed the
myth of love now
just a disenchanting daydream when I
was several hours shorter I
dreamt of being tall but I
never flew until
you and
now I cannot rip these wings
off and
rest the
center of my heart snatched
and carried in your talons. erin-cilberto 10/17/23 © 2023 jacob erin-cilberto |
