another Eagle poem

another Eagle poem

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

another Eagle poem

several hours tall

the nightmare grows wings

takes us to cloudy inception of terror

we wake screaming on the hills

where unicorns bleed

the myth of love

now just a disenchanting daydream

when I was several hours shorter

I dreamt of being tall

but I never flew

until you

and now I cannot rip these

wings off

and rest

the center of my heart

snatched and carried in your talons.

'another eaagle poem'
jacob erin cilberto,
This was a really interesting look at how a relationship can be perplexing-painful.
'several hours tall
the nightmare grows wings'
Between the hope, the dream of a healthy close and safe place
to something lived
as much less. How to function there?
'where unicorns
bleed the myth of love'
Indeed the hope of a mystical dream which simply seems to die.
To poems completion, a sudden and sure end.
and now I cannot rip these
wings off
and rest
the center of my heart
snatched and carried in your talons.
Well done. I found this poem a flight into the depths of what is painful and way to real!
Blessings today and tomorrow....
Kathy

Thank you for your very kind review, Kathy,

Oh my, the final two lines. Those talons into a soft heart sure felt painful to me. Eagles can be scary. Give me a little robin any day.

Love hurts, but even worse is fascination with the unattainable.

This poem has such an otherworldly feeling to it, as if a broken dream but still in it...an underlying sense of love. Its a special write.

The eagle has landed and ripped love from the heart like the rapacious raptor it is.

Well done j.

Never trifle with a predator; you'll be carried away before you know it. On the other hand, there is that matter of birds of a feather.
