A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Photo

at a standstill

doubt keeps circling

like crows to a cornfield

the hanging man

a warning

we all might be victuals

under black wing

soon.

The scarecrows are there for a reason, aren't they? Sometimes I wonder which is scarier, the scarecrows or the crows. F.

the human made attempt to scare the birds is probably scarier.

Hitchcock didn't seem to think so. But the scarecrow in Jeepers Creepers was pretty creepy.
"doubt"..."warning" - grasping my heart with images too close to yours. Good work, Erin-Cilberto!

Thank you for your words, Alla,

Pretty scary stuff here. I suppose it IS the month of Halloween. Or maybe this is just about self-doubt. We all suffer from that at times. Lots of layers here, Jacob. Lydi**

Oh the dark imagery! Very fitting for an October read!
Doubt does seem to circle like those vultures. It always seems to be waiting for its opportunity doesn’t it.
Thank you for that beautiful reminder!

Wow this is stark in its short sharp nature and in the dark form of the message that death is inevitable. A high impact short poem!

You are most welcome, Jacob.
Dark and hitting with such stunning imagery. This was wonderful to read and visualize. Being devoured is inevitable for all. I loved it, dear Jacob.
