So many wasted moments, days, weeks, months and years, my life's spittoon must be almost brimming. A regurgitated life feels so sad. A very interesting and new metaphor you have here, dear Jacob. Public spittoons are a way of life in my country and always so stained with the reds of betel leaves and betelnut juice. Terrifying to behold. So this was a very strong association for me and of course I loved the poem for it.

What a profoundly thought provoking write! ... You are a philosopher of Life lived in fullest essence of all that which it is ... And all that which we so wish it was, but never shall be ...
Life is just that, always had been and worsens day by day. Maybe that spitoon of yours contributes load to our altered global weather, jacob. Who knows. Whatever, your writing as ever touches mind and interest. Many thanks for sharing, sir.
And It stays that way because no one wants to touch the thing. Ugly, putrid, ungainly. I can't fathom what basic reality is comprised of let alone the specifics touted as truth and justice. I am at a loss and not afraid to admit it. Does that make me woke..not sure what that means either. This makes me sad, angry, bereft. But well written mi amigo.

Thank you for your thoughts here, Crowley.
I appreciate them very much.

Chaw is slang for chewing tobacco I heard so the write had me thinking of a western with gunslingers and bandits passing away time, wasting time, gambling with missed opportunities while chewing tobacco until they are written off because at the end of the day life is short.

My other take was we all chew on possibilities but never act on them until it’s way too late.
The spittoon of life. That's a romantic image if there ever was one. Reminds me of the country song "I'm Just a Bug on the Windshield of Life." The spirit is similar. Wasted moments, unpleasant occurrences, regurgitation of life. This would have been a great number for George Jones.
One can never really obtain a thoroughly clean mouth rinse, always seems not matter how long the garggle, don't a few tiny little few unwanted consumables hang on in the crevices therein, yep, if ever there was a more appropriate endorsement to chew ( chaw, luv that word ) the fat before swallowing this is it, ldespite its initial sweet taste love sure can make us sick...
