Colors of After

Colors of After

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Colors of After

placid pose

a sort of smile

cheeks blushed with thoughts

of a lover

yesterday's encounter

today's reconnoiter

she sips her coffee

turns a little bit more to the right

the artist brushes her onto his canvass

was he the one?

Thank you for your kind review, Julie,

Not the one; sadly not the hun.
This says much in the few. I hope at least he kept the painting; might be worth something of value.
Excellent brevity.

Yes siiiirrrrr. You are welcome 😊
Being an Artist of the "After Glow" ... cheeks blushed with thoughts of yesterday's encounter... reminds me of the Movie "Love in the Afternoon" with Gary Cooper and Audrey Hepburn... a Classic Romance. gently, Pat

I am leaning in the same direction, Stella.
Thank you,

I like how you present the poem as an open-ended story. The allegories sewn into this are also intriguing, with the short yet detailed description of the persons & events. Maybe he was the one. That's what I like to think, anyway. ;)

Was he the one?

The colours of after are looking pretty rosy J. I can picture a scenario of two here brought together again.

the artist brushes her onto his canvass - what a perfect line that is. Beautiful brevity.
