Math teachers may know a lot about formulas, but I imagine their awareness of metaphors is somewhat deficient. Unless the prosecution wants to risk double jeopardy, the poem is home free.
Jacob,
Hahaha... This reminds me of my days as a teacher of literature and creative writing. When I was a high school student, everyone was aware of what it took to be a "Renaissance Man." Our American education aimed us toward the Liberal Arts, no matter if we were inclined to numbers or letters... I'm not sure when we turned from teaching how to live to how to make a living, but when we did, we lost one of the things that made our culture the envy of the world.
We were required to accommodate all kinds of learning differences, but were never asked to differentiate between the math minds and the literary minds... as a result, everyone suffered... I have long believed that "math Is of the devil."

Jacob,
It is indeed, sir... And though it has always been so, we have become consummate purveyors of that madness to all of western civilization, which has fallen from preeminence to sitting on the ground, playing with our own feces.

How many number of years should we give poets if they are guilty, Jacob?
Be merciful and reduce their sentence or I hope the jury find them not guilty of plagiarism...
I love it.
