A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Virus

I am filled with artificial love

expressing my feelings towards you

with robotic kisses

and computer-generated tenders

gestures of touch until I am unplugged

because of an overload of sensation

you are so beautiful and real

I am a poet programmed to hold you

in my screen,

with words composed

by the machine that can't shut itself off

so that a human hand can hold yours

a human voice can stir a pen

a poem might shed a tear without rust

"I love you,"

my program told me to say that

I am not sure why.

I have often wondered when AI will take over poetry and we all begin to fall in love with them because of how good their pixels look, or maybe that has happened already. I won't join in myself, because proving to those pesky capt has that I am not a robot gets me every time!

Yours,
Robopoet 236984. 😊

dearest Jacob… we can be Robotic as well.. when we are influenced by the environment.. as flowers survive by constant Care and not a moment to spare. Some perennials will return when Spring rests through the difficult Season of unrest. Be blessed… Pat

I love this image of a programmed poet. Hmm, you're programmed? I'm programmed? Hmm! Anyway, interesting stuff, J, as is always the case with yours.
