Wow, so timely! I often worry about the effect AI will have on young students and their ability to write in their own voice using their own creativity. AI seems to be the lazy way out. Great poem!

Yes, we are really concerned as writing teachers with this whole business...it is a worry.

Alexa, honey, you've really let yourself go...They recently asked an AI robot what the worse case scenario would be for human/AI interaction. The robot said, "The worst interaction that could occur between artificial intelligence and humans is that machines learn to program themselves eliminating the need for human interaction and direction, effectively making the human race obsolete." We have been warned.

Yes, we have been warned....your reply just made me shiver.

All too scary we focus on how well AI can create what we call art but not on the real issue of defining art as an expression of emotion which AI does not have. The creation of a reflection for an image that does not exist. Loved it.

Yes, the missing emotions...just words.

With the way tech is going there just might be huminoid poets out there expressing love but not feeling it. This totally reminds me of that twilight zone episode where a prisoner who is left on a planet is given a mate. Problem is, she's a robot and he doesn't believe it. I guess even flowers will be made through tech one day too.

and what will those flowers really mean when given on Valentine's Day?

but hard as she try, she can not satisfy more than the base protocol, humans and elephants cry, a good virus
would wipe out all "un-plugables." is that a word?
When robots precariously perch on the top shelf of a bookcase, will take great pleasure in using woodworm, mallet and paint stripper to the thing! When AI takes over the human mind and imagination we might as well lie face to the wall and fade.
Go to it. folk, start imagining, start as you mean to go on .. and on .. and on
You inspire..

the fade is already happening...
Thank you for your kind review,

I bet you had fun writing this piece. I can imagine you with a twinkle in your eye and a smile. It is of course very topical at this moment in time. AI is making its presence known. It stifles creativity in my opinion which is not a good thing. It also lacks emotion. But then I think about the muse. Aren’t we all a bit programmed? I write what mine tells me and often I don’t know how I got there when I read the final result. Your final stanza ended this piece perfectly. Much enjoyed J.

If AI takes over the writing world
It’ll be a sorry day
The powers that be in the world the elites pushing for this and we all know who they are !are trying to deaden our soul our light our inner core our imagination our true self
It will NOT be snuffed out
I will not SUBMIT !
Great write ✍️ Jacob
