Look Up

 

a loner in a

skyful of pigeons

all messaging each other

reading wings

not texts

they are the original, flying cells

cooing when the tidings arrive

 

my bird finds my heart

the little paper poem

expressive

love in the air

 

I see you in its eyes

and smile

as if you and the messenger

were one.

Are all writers loners? I think so, though there is misunderstanding about an introvert. For an extrovert, flying in a sky full of other birds is energizing; an introvert needs alone time to recharge. That doesn’t mean the introvert doesn’t like others, only that being around others drains the battery.

This one reminded me of an origami bird my oldest daughter made for me. I can hold it by its belly and tug its tail and the wings move. It was definitely a messenger of love. You find inspiration everywhere J. I so admire that. F.
