tears imply

tears imply

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

tears imply

the shadow breathes

I don't

I hold it until clouds scream

for an exhale

incapable

lips cannot open

I have fallen upon my sword

the writing is exciting until the stab wound

quenches the word thirst

the ink pours from the cut

with read amazement

until the shadow leaves

and the poem

hides its eyes from the sun

as it dries to the page

silencing the clouds

in gauzy hush.

the shadows breathe, return to life, we write about them, the clouds weep tears while the heart bleeds and soon they will depart again in silence

such a poetic response, Chris. Better than the poem itself...

Oooo I love it!! A poets madness described poetically is perfect. You must have a release of the thoughts and emotions and words are a beautiful way to do it.

Do your tears imply that writing is a real pain? A pain in the pen. I really liked the ink pours in read amazement verse. Nice wordplay. Quenches my thirst.
