WishA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoWish I want to join the Beats feel the momentum write long discriminate poems about wars and free love Woodstock Christ walking among us sitting with Emily at the bus stop getting to know her convincing her he is quite real as belief grows for a cause I want to join the Beats write poems that make purists cringe for they must have structure and we are demolishing what they built I want to write a book and ask Ferlinghetti to publish it with City Lights have beatniks walk by the store and see it displayed in the window I want to walk down the street in protest of anything available for the cause jot lines down on my pad like an artist's sketch book I want to be revered for writing something that really matters formless homeless affording only pen, pad and heart I dream. 7/6/23
