some Elms avoid breezes

some Elms avoid breezes

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

some Elms avoid breezes

You wanted commitment

I wanted a few passionate whispers

and then for our lips to part

and hands to recede from the grip

of love

the binding

then the finding

of secrets we never expected

show me another side of heart

the shaded one

when the moon assumes its role

and converts the damage

into a torturous

laborious

insanity

You wanted commitment

I did not want a rubber room

from which to regret

a life never procured

a divorce ever incurred

as the fractured fairy tale closed

with crooked credits

I don't anticipate hating the moon

I will let something borrowed

something blue

stay in the closet

where I hang my heart

away from love

as I retreat

from finding the

binding

was too weak

to hold the pages

of a commitment

you might have broken

with your token

feelings.

Aww the Kindness ;) Looking back on a madness and seeing the moon with crevices and war wounds as it too has survived a thumping. It is far too easy though to accept the madness in and write out write it out with perfect words for the arches of healing and those things we have always thought and wanted to speak. Who can blame this choice, who knows better than you the happenings...but she did give you a poem and a damn good one..lol. Brilliant words and the passion therein is undeniable. Still friends I take it...lol. Amazing how we all want such different things and in the end we go straight into the rubber rooms. Well, at least their rubber...thanks for the Howl and then some. Wonderful words as always. Enjoyed it!

Powerful words Jacob. Many of us feel this to some degree or more and it depends if commitment equates with control or not. No one wants enslavement.
