in deep sight (closing arguments)A Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoin
deep sight (closing arguments) in the
deep light sin
prospers Catholics
unite in
pews of relic belief the
synagogues overcrowded with
guilt we are
taught to repent confessions
recorded for posterity the
ledger filled then wiped clean and
filled again with
guilt lies
of preordered contrition we
were meant to be apologetic to the
voice in the sky that
racks our brains with
questions of existence his,
ours for
what purpose and in
the instant of our demise through
whose eyes may we
see is
someone really sitting on the other side of
that confessional or is
it all a myth we
devised in
defense of ourselves. erin-cilberto 6/26/23 © 2023 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
