When commenting on an authors' work I am never quite sure if we are supposed to "interpret" the poem or just simply say that we enjoyed the work. I believe there can be more than one interpretation of a poem, so I will simply say that I always enjoy reading you Jacob...you cause me to think! ~Sharon

Dear J, we each have our own life story. We as individuals know more than anyone what that is. There are good bits and bad bits. We live our own screenplay. Directors have butchered many a film and may not know all the facts. Social media is a quagmire in my opinion and many people have been judged on the basis of gossip and slurs. You have raised some Interesting thoughts here for your readers with this piece of poetry.

One good thing about not growing up in the age of social media is that it doesn't matter. While people today are consumed with and driven by what others think, we lived our lives, rose and fell and fell some more, got back up, and kept going. It mattered not what anyone thought. The grace that comes from this is that we come into our own, without regard for what others think. It is our life. We lived it. We are who we are because of it. I am so glad that I do not live my life for anyone else.

Thank you for your words...and you pegged me.
Up until Junior year of high school I worried much about what my friends thought and made decisions in life based on that.
Once I stopped and really became my own person...what a change that was...Now in my older age, I am even more individual...and feel I have earned doing what I want to do, looking like I want to look...and I am pretty well accepted...
so I have not been stoned to death or anything.'
Thank you for your insights.

There is such freedom in that, and it's a freedom worth knowing sooner rather than later.
