Which version are you

Which version are you

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Which version are you

be careful of deleted scenes

when the director's cut

comes out, you will be identified

understood

your plot will be analyzed

and dissected

the love story exposed

for what you never gave

and the audience

just might sway

towards the villain

and you will become

the uncredited star

of your own movie.

When commenting on an authors' work I am never quite sure if we are supposed to "interpret" the poem or just simply say that we enjoyed the work. I believe there can be more than one interpretation of a poem, so I will simply say that I always enjoy reading you Jacob...you cause me to think! ~Sharon

Yes, there are always two sides and truth invariably lies between somewhere; might as well show all the takes as it is secrets that make you old.

Dear J, we each have our own life story. We as individuals know more than anyone what that is. There are good bits and bad bits. We live our own screenplay. Directors have butchered many a film and may not know all the facts. Social media is a quagmire in my opinion and many people have been judged on the basis of gossip and slurs. You have raised some Interesting thoughts here for your readers with this piece of poetry.

I believe, maybe we are actors in a terrible movie sometimes. I enjoyed your words and thoughts Jacob. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

One good thing about not growing up in the age of social media is that it doesn't matter. While people today are consumed with and driven by what others think, we lived our lives, rose and fell and fell some more, got back up, and kept going. It mattered not what anyone thought. The grace that comes from this is that we come into our own, without regard for what others think. It is our life. We lived it. We are who we are because of it. I am so glad that I do not live my life for anyone else.
